'Farmland Frontier' Rides!

Guided Horseback riding by the hour for riders 12 to 80 years of age.  Riding on our beautiful Canby farm and surrounding farm land. 

You will receive brief

riding instruction in our indoor arena and then be guided on a ride through our outdoor trail course and obstacles as well as around the neighboring farmlands.  All rides are based on the expertise of the rider.  Expertise is determined by the 'Wrangler' guiding the ride. 

Group rides are limited to 4 riders.  Individual rides no problem!  Reservations and deposit required.   Rides beginning May 15, 2009 through October 15, 2009.

 Riding Lessons 

ages 12 to 80 

Lessons for beginner or 'getting back to it' recreational riders.  Lessons are based on Natural Horsemanship and Centered Riding techniques.  All riding is non-discipline specific.  We emphasis fun, safety, and inner species communication. 

Lessons average two hours.

You will learn to groom and tack your own horse,

ride under instruction and

ride on your own. 

Lessons are $50.00 a session.  4 lesson packages for $180.00, 8 lesson packages $350.00.

 Riding Club

Riding Club is for the person who wants their own horse without all of the responsibility of horse ownership.  No stalls to clean, board to pay, vet bills to worry about, feed to purchase and provide, vaccinations and worming to schedule and maintain, etc..

For $275.00 a month you will receive unlimited access to 'your horse'.  This package includes two riding lessons per month.  You will be evaluated for your riding ability and matched with a horse. Payment is one month in advance and due at the first of every month. 

Half lease programs are available also. 

$150.00 per month, two days per week. 

Horsemanship 101

First horse?…. First horse in a long time?….

Sky Dog Ranch Horsemanship Programs are designed to greatly expand confidence, improve Horsemanship and alleviate stress, both with horses and in life.

Learn to ride and handle horses in a way that is all about safety and communication skills.  

We emphasis non-discipline specific Natural Horsemanship.

What that means is you will develop a Natural Seat and way of handling horses that will  allow you to stay comfortable and safe around horses. 

This type of teaching can naturally transition into any specific style of riding. Our backgrounds include Equitation, Hunters and Jumpers, Competitive Trail, Dressage, Centered Riding and Gymkhana.  You will learn how to minimize the risk of injury and have a true partnership with your horse. Our knowledge of equine behavior is extensive. We emphasize pecking order, herd mentality, ground work, arena flat work, back country riding, nutrition and health as well as overall life skills.

Sky Dog Ranch Horse Teachers are impeccably trained, happy, willing and obedient.

Individual and Group lessons: $50.00 per lesson.
